"Each time I downloaded a new game on my PS3, it keeps telling me that there is not enough free space on the system storage to install the downloaded game files. It drives me crazy now because there is extra space for the files. I've deleted a few GBs since I saw the message at first, but it still says that I need to remove more. What happened to the PS3 system storage?"

Thus, to successfully install the game, you'll need over 16 gigs of free space on the PS3 storage device. When installing a game or DLC, the original downloaded copy is kept in case something terrible happens during install. If something does, the install file will be corrupted while the original will be fine, not forcing you to re-download the entire file again. That's how the download system works.

Most Blu-ray games store some of their files in the PS3 Game Data Utility, which takes up a considerable amount of disk space after a while. You can't just format PS3 since the formatting will erase all the data on it. Instead, you can safely delete any of the folders like game data to free up some space. The data will be reinstalled automatically from the Blu-ray disk the next time that you play the game.

The PS3 system storage issues are far from the single "not enough free space to install games". If you have questions demonstrated as follows, read on and find solutions to your own PS3 system storage problems.

The below tables outline the type and quantity of games available for download and/or streaming via the various PlayStation Plus subscription tiers. Downloadable games can be played on a PS4 (except for PS5 exclusives) or PS5. Streamable games can be streamed to a PS4, PS5 or PC.

All three tiers (including Essential) also include two specific downloadable games per month. The two higher tiers also include access to 27 games through Ubisoft+ Classics. See below for more info on both of those.

3. If a game was previously offered as a trial, and I downloaded it but never played it, then it is later offered as the full game for free, what happens? Do I have to play the 60 minutes before I am able to unlock the full game? If the game was offered as free but now is not any longer, and I didn't play the 60 minutes during the time that it was offered, can I still unlock the full game for free or would it require me to pay for the game now after playing the 60 minutes?

4. Does anyone have a list of all the full games which have been offered free for Plus? I have downloaded every free trial, but never actually played any of them, so I'd like to know which ones are potentially full games (depending on the answer to #3) and which are not.

3. I'm not entirely sure if that's how it works in that scenario, if I liked the game I bought the disc, to conserve space and for collection purposes. But in all likeliness you will more than likely have to redownload the free game.

4. Yes, all full game trials are the full game, regardless of how far you can get in an hours time. If you do chose to buy it via PSN, the trophies will then be uploaded to your actual gamer card, if not they'll forever be stuck in your trophy section via xmb. I've only bought one of the games (hard copy) I tried, and for trophy reasons/completion I deleted my save file and started fresh to avoid potential glitches.

Let me elaborate. There are games which have had trials, then at a later date those games were offered for free to Plus members. Some examples that I know of are Far Cry 2 and Shift 2: Unleashed. If you download a trial then you can not purchase the full game until after you complete the trial. Downloading the trial makes the trial vanish from the marketplace and puts the icon on the full game as if you had purchased it, however downloading it from the full game still only gives you the trial, and in your download history there is no difference between trials and full games. The only way to see if it is a trial or not is to download it and see if it has the timer icon beside it or not when it is installed.

Using my examples, Far Cry 2 and Shift 2, I have these 2 games installed. I originally downloaded them when they were trials, but did not keep them nor did I play them, then I downloaded them again from my history and installed them when they were made free. Now I have them installed, but they still have the trial icon next to them, and to my knowledge they are no longer free for plus members to download. If I play these games will they just be the trial, or will they unlock as the full game when I launch them? If they are just the trial, then what happens when the 60 minutes end? Will they unlock as the full games then, or would I have to pay to unlock them since they are not, at this moment, offered as free for Plus?

Question #4 kind of goes along with question #3. There are games that were offered as free in the past that I did not download due to a lack of HDD space, but I did put them in my download history. I just recently upgraded to a 1TB HDD, so now I have more than enough space to download everything. As I said before, there is no differentiation between trials and full games in the download history, so I am trying to figure out which ones were offered as free full games in the past. I'm currently in the process of re-downloading ALL of the games from my history, but even then most of them show up as trials due to the issue described above. Since I don't want to play through all the trials, for the reason stated in #1, I'm hoping someone knows which games were actually free at some point.

You really don't seem to understand what I'm asking. First of all, Far Cry 2 and Shift 2 DO have trials, or at least they did. When they were first released as downloadable titles Plus members had the option of either paying to download the full game, or first downloading the full game trial for free. I did download the trials, but never played them and later deleted them.

At a later time both of these games were offered as full games (not trials) for free to Plus members. At this time I downloaded them again, but as there is no differentiation between trials and full games in your download history, what I downloaded was still the trial since I had never played the trial in the first place. During the time that the full game was free I still did not play them, and therefore what I have installed still shows up as a trial. The full games are no longer free for Plus, they once again show up with a price in the store. 2ff7e9595c
